Explorer Receives Grant to Provide
Disability Access
The Riverboat Explorer has
received a grant from the Paul V. Sherlock
Center on Disabilities to upgrade access to
the riverboat. The Blackstone Valley Tourism
Council recognizes "People First"; that
individuals with disabilities are - first
and foremost - people. All are welcome on
board the riverboat Explorer!

Riverboat Explorer dates announced for
Sunday public tours
Public tours are every Sunday
from May – October, leaving Central Falls Landing at 1 PM, 2 PM,
3 PM, and 4 PM
- May 5, 12, 19, 26
- June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
- July, 7, 14, 21, 28
- Aug. 4, 11, 18, 25
- Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
- Oct. 6, 13, 20
Once polluted, the Blackstone
River has recovered beautifully! On our cruises you may see
swan, herons, geese, ducks, turtles, hawks and beautiful plants
and trees! The tour guide explains the ecology of the river and
surrounding wetlands interspersed with stories about the people
and history of the region. If you have never cruised on the
Riverboat “Explorer” it is something you must do; and if you
have, you can join with us again and again because every time
you go on the river, you see something new!
Most Sundays
the cost is $10 per person, $8 for
seniors and children
“Free
Sundays” are the last Sunday of every month thanks to
Citizens Bank! (May 26, June 30, July 28, Aug. 25, and

The boat is available for
summer camp field trips, birthday parties, and senior groups. It
is an opportunity to experience the beautiful Blackstone River.
The boat can accommodate up to 40 people. The cost for groups is
$250 for one hour, which makes it about $6.25 per person.
Departure is from the Central Falls Landing, CF, RI.
